Considering switching to tile. Have a few questions.

So I'm making a little more money and think I want to invest in some tile for Scorch. Her viv is 36L x 18W, and I think I wanna get 4x4 (or 6x6 should fit better) tiles. My dad should have the proper equipment to grind some down so they can fit properly. So I have been searching the forums and have not found many answers to my questions. (Tile I'm considering is something like this: http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc...splay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053 or http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc...splay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053)
1. Will the tile get painfully hot under the bask light? Its positioned about 14" above the ground of her viv. And her bask log is lifted about 2 inches from the ground. LIght is a 100w T-Rex UV heat.

2. if there are small cracks where the tiles come together, could her nail possibly get stuck in it and get ripped at? I mean very small cracks that cannot be avoided.

I think thats all for now. I figure tile will also be awesome because crickets can't hide anywhere (versus newspaper! >_<)

i have tile in my 4x2x2 and it only cost me about $20 all together after everything, they dont really got too hot at all, and to avoid the small cracks you can grout the tiles

Grouting is a good idea to solve that... except I think I like the idea of loose tiles because when they get messy I could just pick the yucky one out, wash it in the sink and plop it back in :)
I'm guessing you just spray yours and wipe up? If so, is that pretty easy to clean as well?

WIth those tumbled tiles, you are going to have lots of pits/holes in the tile that I think would be a nightmare to try and clean if they were glued/grouted. They probably aren't much fun even if you can remove them, but the process would much easier. Also, with those types of types of tiles the prices are going to add up pretty quick. I use 12x12 tiles in a 4x2 enclosure, and I think I spent about $19. At 8 sq. ft, the tiles would over $65

If you do end up grouting, I'd recommend grouting over the tiles as well to fill up any of those small holes.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
