confused......again?

OK, here it goes......i have searched on here and it is confusing me even more......when i got beauford (being naive) i bought him the repti-glo 10 coil and was told that this needed to be changed to a reptisun 10 flourescent, which i have done...(thinking it was right) .....now....i was just reading on another post that someone had bought a rs 10 and it was actually a rs8....... there were posts about it saying that this was actually a better bulb..... could somebody please clarify this for me......... as if there isn't enough to learn now everyone is gonna change their minds......... help me, i only want whats best for Beauf and if there is a better bulb that he should have i should like to know...... also what is the difference........ and what made the reptiglo coil so bad compared to the tubes??? i understand they aren't as healthy for them i would just like a real reason why......please......and thank you.....

Coils, compacts, etc. are all unreliable. Take some time to read the test results on this site regarding these bulbs: http://www.uvguide.co.uk/

The reptisun 10.0 LINEAR bulbs are the only safe florescent bulbs that any of the members here will recommend. The only other option recommended is a Mercury Vapor Bulb (MVB). They are great bulbs that emit great levels of UVB and heat, combined in one bulb. They can only be used in large tanks.

The reptiGLO 10.0 (coils, compacts and linear) are all unreliable bulbs. The reptiGLO 8.0 is safe to use. The reptiSUN 10.0 is the safest/most recommended. I've never seen a ReptiSUN 8.0.
If you have a reptiSUN 10.0 linear (long tube) then you have the best bulb (other than an MVB). It is safe. Just be sure to change it every 6 months.

U need the ReptiSun 10 long UVB tube light

NOT the ReptiGlo 10!! If u are going to purchase a ReptiGlo...it is recomended to get the ReptiGlo 8, not 10.

I know it can be confusing because the names are similar. Just be sure to double check when buying bulbs. ReptiSUN 10 linear, or the ReptiGLO 8. I don't believe ReptiSUN comes in an 8.

OMG...it's ridiculous....and if the other bulbs are so bad why do they even make them? thats just dumb.... all i know is with the bulb i have now, i switched beauf to the liquid calcium drops and the liquid multi vitamin from http://www.beautifuldragons.com and he is doing great now, way better than with the powdered supplements and i would never go back..... i just wish there weren't so many mixed messages......god his little scaley self is a pain.....and then when i read something i haven't heard or i heard differently then i start all over worrying that i am doing something wrong...... and trying to find an answer....... and you know for something i wasn't super excited about getting my rotten ol heart would break if something happened to him and it would b worse if iknew it was some thing either i did or could have prevented..............
