so i have been buying crickets and worms from the pet store and it costs alot.
iv been hearing people say to order them off line.
does anyone know anything about this? where i order them? and if they come to canada?
I live in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

There's an awesome priced pet store here in Hamilton Ontario to purchase live feeders. That's where I go, but I live here. It may be worth the drive for you? Most places I looked into for ordering them online was quite expensive for shipping and some even have a minumum order. I found this place and find their feeders are excellent quality for my 2 beardies. We use supers as a main staple so we buy 1000 for $35. They even gave us a bagful of bran to house them in. Their crickets are nice and juicy for $7 per one hundred and they seem cheap for the thousands there too. Last night we bought the kids each a horn worm for a special treat and they were salivating over them. The guy also didn't feel like counting out 50 waxworms for our skinny little boy. I ended up seperating the few dead ones in the container and counted all the live worms and it was extremly over-counted. We ended up getting 179 waxworms for $8.00!! I guess he's going to get right plump eating all those. I decided to share some with the big fatty female and she devoured a few this afternoon. This store is very knowledgeable in all kinds of lizards and even helped us with some advice. Every single one of the employees there that we have talked to own at least one beardie and enjoy them extensively. They even have supplies at a reasonable cost. If you'd like to know more, please don't hesitate to ask! These are great guys and they take the time to listen to you and help you out. They are excellent people!!

I'm in Windsor, Ontario and have been ordering my dragon's food in bulk online for a while and its much cheaper than going through the store. Canadian Feeders (http://www.canadianfeeders.com) is based out of Windsor and I've had a lot of good dealings with them. I've also dealt with Canadian Silkworms (http://www.canadiansilkworms.com - I've had a couple of problems with them but they were good to deal with overall and resolved the problems quickly. They're based closer to you I beleive.

now i know this is a food question.. but should i get meal worms? or silk worms? i dont really know.. i have been giving Carlos meal worms.

From what I have been reading on this site, Meal worms are not a good thing to feed your beardie. They are more chitin than protein and have little nutrional value to your baby; and have read that they can cause impaction. From your pm, your little one is about 4 months, so I would avoid the meal worms for sure.

Hi,

If you can buy silkworms, I would also prefer them highly over mealworms with 1 but: your beardie must be able to handle them (in size). If not, the stick to crickets, small dubias if you can find them, phoenix worms, butterworms and other small live matter.

from what I have read, dubia's are roaches? Can't buy them anywhere in Ontario unless your into the black market, so i hear, sorry. Even though they are a good feeder, there's some kind of legal issue with these things. Not exactly sure what, but that's all i have heard.

Dubias are indeed some sort of roaches. Can imagine why they cannot be imported. They are bred here especially as live feed. You can find more info on them here. Too bad, cause when well bred, they make especially good food.
