Still working on set it and forget it setups, but made a mistake. I was told mealies would help keep carrion down, but their population has exploded and eating up all the roach food. After starting to make my own high quality chow, i dont want the bulk of it to be feeding these little moochers. I realise id have to recage to 100% solve the problem, but am open to periodic culling instead.

I Am trying to figure out how I can collect them in a way that will not collect out dermestids or dubias. The best I have is mesh around a pitri dish held together by a rubber band, and am reading to put apple slices in it. Does anybody have a better solution, or can they tell me if I will be culling dermestids as well? the holes in the mesh around a pitri dish are about 1/8 inch by 1/8 inch.

Are there a lot? lol.

I don't think there is any fool proof way you can do it where you only get the mealworms out besides doing it one by one with your hands.
