Coil bulbs dangerous...

I've been reading about recent research showing some coil bulbs being harmful, and I've read a lot of you had similar problems. I asked the local exotics shop owner who is pretty reputable around here about it, and he said he was contacted by the St. Louis zoo about it, and that the problems, as far as he has heard/read has been with Zilla bulbs. He claimed he hadn't read about any problems exoterra (what I have) or any other brands, or he would've pulled the products from his shelves already. Have any of you heard of problems from any other company/brand? I currently plan on using a new Exo Terra ReptiGlo 10.0 for the Dragon I'll be pruchasing on Saturday at the show. (Day after tomorrow...I'm so stoked!)

I have a similar "problem." My local experts say don't worry about it. Also a representative from Exo Terra answered a letter from a member of this forum about this issue. The rep said that high output UVB bulbs are not bright. Therefore beardies looked into the light, as is common with low lights. When they had the UVB in their eyes they may develop problems. Used with a heat lamp, a bright one, it will not be a problem.

I have not had a problem with that particular bulb.

I recommend getting a reptisun 10.0 tube
I had reptiglo 5.0 in my viv, and once I heard how bad reptiglo is I switched to reptisun and noticed a huge difference in my dragon's activeness and alertness.
