I currently own a bearded dragon (he is on paper towel, no worries). I like to watch bearded dragon set up videos to get new ideas and gain knowledge. I recently watched a cage set up video by LLLReptiles where the woman highly recommends chipped aspen as a substrate.
She discusses is pros, such as its size being big enough that the dragon could spit it out (unlike sand) but small enough that it will pass through their digestive tract without problems. She also discussed its cleaning pros, including the fact that it is easy to spot clean.
I'm curious as to what your opinions are.
