Seriously though I can't believe I didn't try this sooner. I took some UL listed 3M chrome duct tape and put a few strips along the back top of the screen lid where it sits over the uvb bulb which is in the cage. It makes a surprising difference and there's no extra hardware on top of the cage, and the tape is on the outside so the dragon can't get to it.
