Change of behavior... is this normal?

My beardie usually stands with his body lifted above the ground, (which, as I've read, is normal and a clue to a healthy animal) but today he's been lying around with his belly touching the floor. He will stand around for a while, then lower himself close to the ground. He seemed normal and active during feeding time, albeit slightly distracted (just zoning out from time to time despite the offering of food).

Is he alright? Any help is appreciated.

Ps, I think he may be shedding. There is a flake stuck on him, and I found a couple on his log. Could this be the reason? He didn't do this the last time he shed.

Personally, I wouldn't really worry unless the behavior is continuing for a week or so.

Can you go over your setup just to make sure that your setup is a-ok?

Hi Brandon,

Linnaeus is housed in a 40 gallon tank, with a 75W basking light and a ReptiSun 10.0. The lights are all the right distance away from his basking spot.

I'm now fairly certain that Linnaeus is shedding, maybe explaining his behavior(?)

It's possible, your setup seems fine so hopefully the behavior will stop soon.

Could be he's just got lazy. Sitting is more comfortable than standing after all
