my 3 year old male beardie is an every 3 to 4 day pooper in the bath. lately it looks like hes having a little trouble passing his urates/poo. he will only poop in the bath and for a few seconds after hes done he will wiggle around a little while nothing is coming out. when he poops his poo is solid, well formed and soft with no foul smell and his urates are softish. but on the days he gets a bath and passes only urates they are slightly hard sometimes and almost always chalky/gritty to touch. i have had a fecal sample done 2 weeks ago but my vet isnt a reptile specialist so sent the sample to an external source to be tested and im waiting for results. my beardie has stopped eating his veggies for the last few months but i still provide them everyday and mist them twice a day to keep them moist. he gets live feeders every second day and hasnt slowed down with those, no weight loss. i dust all live food with a calcium supplement that contains d3 (komodo). his veg is usually dusted every 2nd day. i also offer water from a dropper which is usually refused once a day. lately ive noticed the temps seem to had increased a little and he has been more lethargic, sleeping for short intervals during the day and usually asleep before lights out so i lowered the temps (now spends hours basking again) and ive been giving daily baths in case he was a little dehydrated. i use an arcadia 36 inch uv tube, basking temps 100f, cool side about 80f, no sand or loose substrate. im wondering is there anyone else that has had a chalky/gritty urate problem and what was the cause and remedy?

Excess calcium comes out through urates, and can cause it to be hard and chalky, and you're right, it's also a sign of dehydration. Do you dust all your live feeders?

1 feeding per day, 5 times a week is enough for the calcium.

I've had gritty/chalky urates too (not me but my BD of course:D) but onlt when he does it in the bath (what i've noticed)

I have issues getting mine to eat greens and always have, and he wont drink either:

SO i hope he gets all he needs from the bath as im out of ideas how else to keep him hydrated :/

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
