Cat climbers.

So I know a few people have little ramps for their dragons, and was in Petco the other day joking with my girlfriend about getting my dragon a Cat climber thing. Not that I actually plan on it, but it made me think has anyone ever done that?

I was thinking of it too but they were expensive I thought of putting a basking light above it. Then they could be out more with the ability to climb up for heat.

I had the exact same thought this weekend! I think I am going to build something instead. That way it is custom built for my babies and what I know they like.

Will do. My inspiration is from Sweetie09 (I think that's right... she's a moderator). She has a picture I saw somewhere of the ramp in her living room for her beardies. I just love it. Looked at the cat climbers, but not the same. The hubby is building my son's new viv right now and I have to pitch in on that this weekend. But I figure sometime before May is out I will be itching for another project.

What about making your own ramp? Take a board and wrap it with an old rug or towel to make it grippy? I've been thinking about making one, myself

I will probably make something a bit more elaborate than a ramp. Deb has toys & stuff around hers for more interest. I'll probably end up with something more like an uneven pyramid... haven't designed it yet. Still exhausted from figuring out furniture in my son's viv.

My husband made this ramp a couple of years ago and we put a power sun at the top;

It wasn't difficult to build and the toys we found in a box in the recycling area in our building. We've updated it over the last year, there's now a dump truck they can jump into & out of, but the black cat toy that purrs when you touch the back is still there. Here's a pic with Didi sitting on it:

All of my dragons like it & run up & down, around the living room, back up and down. Of course it helps that it's just me & the dragons now, my hubby passed away last summer, but he built it so well, it's now a legacy for them. They all get outside time every day & really enjoy it. There's also a small TV at the top of the stereo furniture that they can watch from the top of the ramp, so they get to watch cartoons all day!

OMG, that ramp/play area is GREAT!!!

...now I really, really want to build one for Stanley.

Add that to the list of things I want to build for him, LOL.

They really all love the ramp and Lauram, if I had the room, you'd be invited. Imagine this, a 1 bedroom apartment with 5 beardie tanks & a gecko tank. I have 3 40 gallon breeders along one living room wall (beside the ramp) and a 75 gallon behind the couch (open concept, mind you), the gecko is across the living room from the 40 gallons & I have a 40 gallon breeder in the bedroom. They're all on credenzas, so have extra storage, the 75 gallon is on a short long & strong shelf. So they take up more room than I do. So if you can find room, you're welcome!

I'm glad you like the ramp, my gang sure do & now it's time to switch Leo with Lonzo. :mrgreen:

I also don't have any visitors, they prefer I visit them, wonder why

I don't know alot of people who like lizards, except my sis-in-law & she's too busy, with 2 boys, helping my brother run their company, competitive skating, getting the boys to all their activities & back & forth to school (no school bus in their area) & lots of other things, so maybe this summer we'll have a picnic & she can finally meet them all.

If you lived closer I'd love to have the company!

Thanks for posting that, Deb. That was what I was talking about. Totally want to make one! First Figment needs a sandbox in his viv and Crystal just plain needs a viv. But I'm sure by late May I will be antsy and wanting another project. I will be back here for those pictures.

And you could have a nice summer program at your house. I could send my 12 year old up when school lets out and he would happily spend the entire summer rotating your beardies to the ramp. :mrgreen:

I love the area and ramp set-up. Don't think I can get my hubby to go for that one though. I would love to go live in that apartment It does sound like a tight squeeze. They are so worth it
