Yesterday was quite the rollercoaster. First I found my rabbit, Cocoa, passed away in her house. Then we went for a drive and checked out a couple of petshops. He's thinking about starting up a saltwater tank, and was pricing the various components. At the last shop, he made 3 critical mistakes. He still can't believe what happened!!
Mistake #1- Tall, dark and handsome calls me over to check out "the neat-looking dragon"! It was a dark brown with paler markings, 12" from nose to tail tip. (hehehe, what a *****)
Mistake #2- He asks the clerk, "Why he's only $100, when the babies are $60-70?" So, his sad tale came out. He had been surrendered to the shop by a couple who had found him in their new apartment. The previous tenants had just abandoned him there for 3 months with no food, heat or lights. ( he's almost done for)
Mistake #3- While he's listening to the tale of woe, he LETS ME HOLD THE DRAGON!!!!!!! ( mwahahahaha, the Puppydog Eyes strike again!!)
All told, we walked out of there with $200 worth of dragon, lights and crickets!
He's still unnamed, but settling in nicely. Eats like a pig, swims like a crocodile, and poops in the tub like Izzie used to. Pictures will be posted shortly(batteries are charging) but in the meantime, I'm reflecting on the truth of the statement, "Beardies are like Pringles, you can't just have one!" :headbang:
