I live in a very humid area and my partner and i just recently got a bearded dragon a week and a half ago. we both did a lot of research and tried to learn as much as we could about their health and such. my partner noticed today that the humidty in the tank was inbetween 60 and 70 which is very high. the humidity gauge i have came with one of those dumb reptile kits BUT its a 70 gallon tank and it wasnt that expensive so whatever. anyway, the base of his tail is like way paler than his body and the tip of it is kind of dark and there is a small small almost unnoticeable kink in it..... we both just noticed this today and im worried its tail rot? he was shedding recently and i know improper shedding can cause tail rot but what causes them to shed badly? humidity? we have removed the log in his cage, lowered the amount of water, and turned a fan on so that the air flow is better. were going to get a dehumidifier soon also. and we are planning to take him to the vet soon. ive never had reptiles or amphibions or anything other than mammals.
