Hey all, I recently rescued a leopard gecko who's in pretty rough shape...at least 1 year old, malnourished (he's only about 5 1/2 inches long, very skinny but you can't see bones quite yet, his tail is pretty thin though), and clearly has some MBD problems (twisted spine, almost unusable back legs because they're so deformed).
I don't really know a lot about him, I got him from someone who had only been feeding him those freeze-dried mealworm treats, and all they could tell me about him was that they'd gotten him from someone else about a year ago. They'd never used a UVB bulb or a heating pad for the tank, so now he's resting comfortably under one of the bulbs I use for my beardie, with a nice little heating pad under the hideyhole in his tank. I've been feeding him calcium-dusted wax worms and crickets (had to rip their legs off though so he could catch them, he's having a much easier time with the worms). He's only eaten 2 worms and 1 cricket since I got him all set up, I'm thinking of trying some phoenix worms with him to see if he'll be interested in those, I know they'd be a great meal for him if he ever decides to really eat.
Does anyone here have experience with leopard geckos, or can anyone recommend a good site I could use while I'm getting this little guy back on his feet?
