The calcium i currently use is repti calcium with D3. I do it once daily. Is this to much D3? his lights are on for 12 hours a day. he has a t8 10.0 8 inches from the basking spot mounted inside. i have a calcium powder without d3 if that would be better. hes roughly 2 and a half months old if that matters.

No he needs the D 3 5 x per week ONCE per feeding - calcium w/ out D 3 will come when he's a year IF you go to a T 5 - if not you will still haft to give the D 3 more often w/ a T 8

ok I plan on upgrading to a t5 in may but would it make much of a difference if i was providing him with the calcium with d3? like are there differences in getting the proper d3 through the powder vs the uvb?

W/ the T 5 you still haft to give D3 just not as often -- like maybe once a week and the calcium w/ out D3 the other 2 times per week - w/ a T 8 you would need to give that 3 times per week - the T 8 is not as good as providing the D3 like the T 5 is

I would go w/ a 24" that would be 1/2 of your tank-- I would look for a 24 watt Arcadia pro T 5 w/ a 12% bulb

would a repti sun t5 be good as well? when i get it would i need to position it in the middle or to one side?
Are you talking about the fixture or bulb itself - you want it as close to your basking bulb as you can get - just make sure your distance is 12-15 inches directly above the basking decor

my basking area is in a corner so my uvb would need to be pushed to one side but then it wouldnt be working on the other half of the tank

that's fine. how my set up is. you don't want uvb across the entire enclosure. they need to be able to get out of it if they want.

You only need it so he can get directly under the uvb - it doesn't matter if it's in the middle or on one end-

if set the t5 on top of the screen instead of inside how far from the basking spot would it need to be? if i do it the proper distance on top of the screen would it still give off the proper amount or would it be better inside anyway?

It needs to be inside the tank w/ a 4x2x2 tank -- directly over the basking spot 12-15 inches

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?

Hey! We’re the same age! That’s cool!
Hi there a little update we went from a 50 watt heat lamp to a 100 watt basking halogen heat lamp hahaha I saw some comments about it being so close so I made sure to put it a ruler away from her
Has anyone seen this before? Something in the corner of his mouth
