Cage ventilation

I am having a custom acrylic cage built that will be approximately 4x2x2 and enclosed so my lights will be inside. I will have to provide the ventilation so I was wondering what was the best way to go about creating the holes. I've noticed many people have about 5 small round ducts in the back and 2 large rectangular ducts on the sides. Is that gonna be the most beneficial way to provide ample ventilation and heat? Thank you
