I do love the 5 gal idea for his cave. :D It works beautifuly. I do have a question though, can he get in the habba hut? It looks like it runs side to side. Maybe you could turn it so it runs the other direction and he could have a cave entrence. Either way it is awsome. :blob8:

I am glad that you separated Trouble & Mayze, now they have their own space.

atreyu917, thank you. yes, he has started sleeping in there on a regular basis... its giving him a reason to sleep in most mornings, what with the soft, dark cave and all

Trouble - "lights on at 9:30?! no way, im not getting up untill 12:00, 11:00 at the earliest..."

by protiemama, i took your advice and turned it 90 degrees. he doesnt go under it, but he cirtainly has that option now  . i suppose i could even make it a real cave enterance by draping something over the fishtank opening; that way he'd have to go under the habba hut to get in there.

beardie osk, hello and thank you. yes, those rock terraces on the sides are laminated fishtank backgrounds. i got them at a regular old fishstore, but ive seen them at the big chains too. it was a TALL background, over 2' i think... i had to cut it down on 2 sides basically.

thanks again  .

thank you everyone. i know every person here has a busy life and sometimes getting on here is a pain  . i just wanted to say i appreciae everyone taking the time to check in and say hi. its everyone here who has given these dragons proper care, i have only followed directions  .

Thanks for the updated pic's Jason. :D
I love those pinchable legs they look very healthy. Keep up the great work. :)

An you may have gotten your information on caring for them from here, but it took you to
provide the care so without you they'd have nothing.
Give yourself some credit!

I'm still lovin' the 5gal hide this is something I could do for Z&W and they wouldn't get caught on it.
You are very creative and always give me such good ideas, thanks. :D

hey everyone, happy thanksgiving :D .

all the dragons are doing good; Trouble has calmed down quite abit, no more head bobbing or any other aggressive gestures. Mayze has become so much more relaxed, she doesnt glass dance anymore and spends most of her time basking and sleeping. LG is good too, hes been going to bed earlier but eating just as much  .

i found this old video on my phone, i dont think i ever posted it. it shows Mayze outside of her enclosure and trouble inside. short clip, but pretty funny:

Congratulations on recuing the beardies! I have just got my first and ne is only three months old. I got him from a friend of mine who has both parents. They too were in a small tank together, and he just seperated them to give them more space. I am feeding them for him while he is gone for the holidays, and i seem to notice some of the depressed symptoms in them. I will show him your post tomorrow when he returns and hopefully will be able to put them back together in a larger tank. When i fed the female yesterday, she was curled up, almost crippled looking and was very lethargic. Hopefully, it is not too late for them.

Erm... Did you only read the first page? He's since seperated them and now they're happier. I'd be more apt to check your friend's husbandry than "seperation anxiety".

hello, and thanks :D .

bearded dragons dont respond well to new enviornments. its more likely they are feeling relocation stress than seperation anxiety.

when two dragons are kept together and then taken apart, it may seem like all of their happiness has been taken away because of seperation but they are just getting used to their new home.

peera is correct; my dragons are a lot more relaxed now that ive seperated them. no more head bobbing, arm waving or neck biting. Mayze doesnt want out of her cage anymore, either.

most people get two dragons thinking theyll keep eachother company but it doesnt work that way. the male will over breed the female or they will always be fighting. i only had these two housed together because thats how they were at the pet store; they were in deplorable conditions and i couldnt stand seeing them like that. i changed the important stuff i could afford to at the time(substrate, lighting, heat gradiant).

anyhow thanks for checking in, feel free to look through this thread, theres lots of good pics/vids on almost every page  .

Aw, look at Trouble's little stubby fingers. He and Mayze both look so happy. I'm really glad for them that you were able to take them in. You're the king of beardie rescue! :D

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
