buddies and blankies???

So I have to ask, what's up with the stuffed animals and "blankies"? I see so many pics where they seemed comforted by either, is this because they are raised with these items, or does it have to do with the "softness" or warmth. Just wandaring cause my baby beardie doesn't have anything like this in his enclosure and I feel like I'm depriving the little guy

You are not depriving him. In Australia, I highly doubt they are allowed to snuggle with the wombats and kangaroos. Us parents just like to spoil our babies.

I don't think they can get attached to any certain item, though it does help your relationship with them if you give them items that smell like you (if my shirt is clean at the end of the day I'll wrap Budo up in it). It's mostly the warmth they appreciate from blankies and they can hide behind and under stuffed animals. I'm not sure if beardies even appreciate blankets or stuffed animals at all, I think it's mostly the snuggles they like and us humans seem to associate snuggles with soft and fuzzy things.

Who wants to sleep on the hard ground? Not me! We give them the blankies to have something soft to sleep on. After a while they head strait for them at night. So far we only have 1(8month old) who loves his buddie. He will even run over to protect whats his if another beardie is near. Our oldest beardie (6/7 yrs)just uses his as a comfy place to poo :roll: so bye bye it went . I think its just because we love to spoil them rotten. I'ts not going to hurt them in any way if you dont give them one.

Its something thats always confused me and ive wanted to ask about to but i forget everytime i log on here to read peoples posts.

Liz has a soft towel we started to use when giving her medicine and taking her to the vet, now when shes out she always finds it and lays out on it watching tv lol
