Hello all. I have finally made up my mind to create a thread dedicated to my new beardie Buck along with a little bit of Argon Action (My other bearded dragon)! I will be using it to keep track of pictures and record how they are doing. Here they are:
Buck
Argon
After the death of my beloved baby bearded dragon Iggy, I decided one dragon (Argon) was not enough so I set out to buy an adult. So I saw an add on craigslist for a bearded dragon whose picture depicted him tilting his head to the side. This was too adorable for me and I since he was only an hour away I soon set off to pick him up. Thankfully he was in good health but the guy who was selling it warned me that he hadn't really been held that much and because of that, when two other people had tried to buy him before they returned him within a day because he was "too aggresive". Unfazed I still bought him after handling him for a while without too many issues. That night I found him in the most adorable position.
Yesterday, when I went to handle him he puffed out his beard and tried to hiss at me. I didn't want to encourage this behavior and let him think he can stop me from picking him up when he does this so I just put my hand right in and swooped him up. I was surprised to find him to be as docile as a lamb and I figured he just likes to bluff when he is in his tank.
Later, I decided to snuggle with him before bed. I was kind of tired myself though so I accidentally dozed off with him asleep on my belly. Imagine my surprise this morning when I found him still sleeping on my belly, exactly where I had left him!
Oh and a little background behind his name. I decided to call him Buck because he reminds me of this wild toad who used to live in my front yard who I called Buck as well. When he isn't stretched out and sunning he resembles a frog or a toad a lot especially since he tried to fall asleep in his little "pool".
