Brumation help

I think my beardie might be going into brumation. He has stoppedeating, and will sleep if I turns dark instantly. He is only a year old and he is my first, so I have never experienced this before. Also sorry I put in er feel free to move it just didn’t know where else to put it. If he is going to brumate I really need help with everything I need to do! I know I will need to get a decal done at the vet before I put him into brumation right? Also how long to they brumate?

Thank you! I will be sure to read that. I also just got him a new heat bulb because it was time to replace and it wasn’t working as well. Could that be part of it?

That could be helping trigger his instinct to brumate. What type of heat bulb did you buy?

Just to be safe, could you please post some photos of him and then also of his enclosure and lights? And what UVB light do you have? How old is the UVb light? How far away from his basking spot is the UVb light mounted? And is it obstructed by anything, like a mesh lid? What are the temperatures of his Basking Spot Surface, the Hot Side Ambient (air) and the Cool Side Ambient (air)? What type of Thermometer do you use to check his 3 temperatures, a stick-on, or a Digital Probe, or a Gun?

You always want to check their husbandry any time they stop eating or become lethargic, as these are also the 2 most common symptoms of improper temperatures and inadequate UVb light.
