Wow its been a long time since my last post, since then I moved back home to Florida and my beardie made the trip with me...

Question for ya: the days have gotten longer again, and he did the same thing last year...He hasn't been eating, for two weeks...When I come home I find his cage wrecked and he is in his cave...He doesn't want to be in the cage, wants to hang out on the couch and by the window...he does drink water...Should I force feed some baby food from a dropper? a little help please...he seems normal but this not eating is becomeing a real pain!

afternoon is when he eatsI have tried all diff times but he llikes to eat aftenoons

dusted with vitacal and multivitamin every other day just a few worms

Is your dragon having regular bowel movements (poops)?
no he is not eating

Do you bath your dragon? How often?
not very often he doesnt like it anymnore

Do you mist your dragon or offer water other than in the bath?
yes he drinks from a dropper daily

Does your dragon share an enclosure with another dragon?
no

Have you gotten a vet check and fecal done?
yes last year A ok!

It sounds to me as if he just isn't fully awake and ready to eat yet. All but 3 of my adult beardies won't usually eat until about 2 to 3 weeks after waking. I mean they might nibble but not a good munch. The males for the first several weeks after waking have only 1 thing on there minds an it's not food. So he may just be feeling a bit of Spring in the air.

If he doesn't seem to be loosing weight I wouldn't worry to much yet.

he is loosing a little weight, but the funny thing he wasn't in a full brumation state....Although now he hates his cage and loves to sleep on the couch...I try to heat him up under the basking bulb for a few hours a day, and then try a feeding....but he won't take it, and he will wreck his cage and wants out...seems the only place he is happy is on the couch...I even leave for work and leave him on the couch, and when I come home he is still on the couch or on the window sill....

That actually all sounds normal to me. I find it very hard to keep the boys in their viv's during this time of year. Yet they will sit contently and happy in a window sill the entire day. An if I don't let them out they totally destroy their viv's.....salad from one end to the other.

His light doesn't need replacing yet, your temps are within range, the only thing else I would think to ask right now is when was his last fecal test?

They all brumate differently evidently that was all he was requiring. But you live in Florida so it might be best for you to see how other Florida member's beardies are behaving sense your weather is different than mine.

yeah sounds exactly right, wanting out, tearing up the viv etc...He will bask for a bit then tears up the viv and scratches like a dog on the back door wanting in...The last fecal was last year...As soon as he starts eating and poos regularly I will get a fecal and float done... Weighed him today @ 550 grams so I 'll see if he maintains...if he drops below 500 Ihave force feed some baby food or apple sauce...When the days start getting shorter or longer the eating strikes tend to happen and he sleeps a bit more, but he just kinda vegges out not a full sleep...If I dont get a poo or this continues for another 2 weeks I will get blood work done

I was put him in his hammock today, and he made his way to the basking spot when I checked on him, Was able to put some applesauce on his nose and he licked it of got him to eat about 1/2teaspoon...then he would have no more and wanted up on my shoulder....I put him back in the basking spot..

I'm in Florida also and Max my 3 yr old does the same exact thing everyday for the past 2 1/2 weeks...just vegges out...glad i'm not the only one.
