Broccoli

Anzac is 6 weeks old now I have been trying him out with different veg. 1 veg he does like is broccoli but it says feed rarely, what does rarely mean??? once a week, 2 weeks, month?
Apart from a tiny bit of cabbage he doesn't seem to like much else at the moment. We have tried watercress, yellow and orange bell peppers, grated carrot & cabbage. He doesn't seem that interested in his bowl at all apart from running through it on his laps round the viv. :? I think we should have called him Roadrunner

At that age he might not have a taste for veggies for a while. Have you tried turnip, mustard, or collard greens? ISome dragons are picky, but at that age maybe nothing will get him interested. You can still feed the greens to his crickets and he will eat them that way

Broccoli is advised for rarely or in tiny amounts because it has more negative aspects than positive compared to other options. You want to make sure the rest of your diet can balance out the negative aspects. The guidelines are just that, to help people pick better food options (eat this instead of that). How often would depend on how much you give. A few small florets mixed with other greens that get eaten once or twice a week or so is probably fine, a huge pile as the only item would be much less frequent (monthly or so IMO). I hope that helps make sense of the guidelines.

Broccoli and cabbage both have a few things going against them, they are potentially high in oxalates and already low in calcium so it's not a good source of calcium. It also tends to be higher in goitrogens which can potentially cause thyroid problems if eaten too much.

I give my dragon brocolli maybe once every 2 weeks just to give her some variety. I also feed her Pak Choi nd spring greens which she likes, Kale (occassionly again), butternut squash which she absolutely loves. I think it's abuot trying different things as some things my dragon just won't eat, for example she won't eat strawberries at all and doesn't really seem to like carrot when I've tried her on that either
