Hi, I posted about a month ago asking questions about beardies because I'll hopefully be getting one soon, and I was wondering about breeders...At first I was terrified about ordering a beardie and having it shipped but after reading many stories about people doing it I feel more confident about doing it myself...so I've been looking at breeders online I could order from.

What breeders have you used that you were pleased with? [I'm only concerned because ordering online means I don't get to see where the dragons were raised and how they were cared for previously]

I'm looking for a baby and I want to make sure that he/she is going to be very friendly and will be okay with being handled :] [another reason why I want to be sure the breeder is a reputable one that cares for its animals] My price range is anywhere up to $200

There are a few who post in the for sale section and many of them also contribute to the forum and answer questions. So why not look in the for sale section and then visit their websites? That is what I did and the ones I looked closest at were Dragon Hut, Caliente, California Citrus and Bloodbank. I wanted to buy from someone who was available and who contributed to the forum. There are others that are just as reputable, that is just the four I looked at. I also looked at other breeders that people I know recommended.

I looked at each website and read all their care sheets. I looked at the pictures they had and the dragons available for sale. I also looked at their policies and guarantees.

Then I typed in their names in the search at the top and read posts that had their names mentioned to get an idea about what other forum members experiences were. Then I called the one I picked and asked a jillion questions.

I felt good, so I purchased a dragon from one of the breeders. I used Bloodbank and they little guy I got is gorgeous.

I think if you talk to the breeders you will get a feel of who you want to buy from. All of the breeders here seem to genuinely care for their dragons. I would't hesitate to buy from any of the ones I mentioned and I sorry if there is someone I didn't mention.

I HIGHLY recommend jeff at california citrus dragons (http://www.citrusdragons.com) I just got 2 from him and i couldnt be happier. he has gorgeous dragons in your pricerange.Ive never heard a bad word about him! Hes great and my babies are happy and healthy and growing like weeds...over an inch in 3 weeks!! I searched and searched and he was the one who gave me the most info, the best prices and even talked to me on the phone multiple times and made me feel like I wasnt just buying a dragon, but a future family member. Id say youll get exactly what you want from him! You can see my babies on my website, they are gorgeous and i know he still has clutchmates of both of them available. HE ROCKS!

If you haven't found a new beardie in the for sale section, try Caliente Dragons (calientedragons.com). That's where I got my Jasper. He was only $115 w/ shipping. He's tamed, beautiful, and eats well.

if $200 is your range with shipping try Berry and Steve at bloodbankdragons.com they have some really nice trans, hypos, and hets for that range and they are wonderful with answering questions. Also try Anthony from http://www.annapolisbeardeddragon.com my male Opeth came from him and that baby dragon is my favorite out of the five i have even though i love them all, Opeth just has that look and his future girlfriend Synn came from Distinctive Dragons (you can check them out too) she looks like shes always smiling. There are some great breeders here and my first breeder i bought from was Mike from Sunshine Dragons a great guy in person and Lady and her evil sister Scylla are hams! all breeders mentioned are great and have very nice dragons it all comes down to what you want and which dragon you prefer. good luck finding your dragon!

for breeders with morphs there is always blood bank dragons and fire and ice dragons. most breeders have high priced morphs but not many normals.

I have 3 babys from http://www.distinctivedragons.com/ I have to say they have all been amazing. The male Kinno from Puff/Casper has been awsome 4 months and hes 19" and so cuddly and very friendly. Hes a little stud muffin. Kevin was so awsome to talk to and he works with you if you need a bit before you can pay and making sure its safe to ship (weather conditions) checked up on the beardies. So far hes the only breeder ive used. But this forum has amazing breeders and dragons GL on finding your new guy!
