Bogie IS LOST OUTSIDE!

OK , so it's my fault. I know it that makes it even harder. I had him on the porch 'cause it was a beautiful day here in Tn. He has an open front viv and a log all his own. He had been using the viv but the sun moved and he moved to his log. I went in to fix Daniel (the 4 yr old) a sandwich and told him to watch Bogie. I came out with the sandwich and both were gone. :shock: Daniel had run off to bother Katherine at the tree swing and Bogie was just gone. I looked in the holly bush and the Hydrangea where he runs if frightened. I crawled under the porch. I am extreamly afraid of spiders, so that is love! We all spent hours looking all around the porch and in the yard. The clover is high and the dandilions too. It has rained a lot this last week, so the whole lawn is thick. Unfortunatly that makes it easy for a dragon to hide. When Keith got home he hooked up a small camera on a stick and ran it into hard to see spots.
We are now out of light and still no Bogie. I am about to fall apart! I hung a heat light over a large rock and hope he finds it. I hope the cat doesn't find him. It is supposed to storm tomorrow! I am at a loss. Only prayer can help now. The front door was open the whole time, he could have run inside. I pray he did. No we haven't found him in here yet. Oh, why didn't I pick him up like I always do? Why,WHY!?!
I miss my scaley puppy.

I really think the heat lamp on the rock is going to lure him in though! Put a cricket keeper with some bouncy crickets in it up on the rock so he can see jumping crickets from afar?

I feel really bad because I really have no advise to offer
(just my love, blessings, prayers, and friendship)...I've never lost one outside before.
Do you have a fenced yard?
Not that that really makes a difference, but I know if I lost one of mine outside I'd be in big trouble nothing but an unfenced yard surrounded by vineyards.
An I commend you for even considering going into the spider zone let alone actually doing it.

I will be praying for you, the family, and most of all the safe return of Bogie.

Oh no! I feel your pain. It's a terrible thing to go through. My favorite dragon ever was lost outside within a 5 minute window. We should always know better but the minute we start to trust them something happens. We have a red tail hawk, who amost got him once when I was close by, might have caught us off guard. On a good note, my daughter has lost hers outside before but found him basking close by the next morning. They never go very far! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you find him in the sun tomorrow. Don't be too hard on yourself. Cheryl

Barb- And all-thanks for the kind words. Current temp is 51. It shouldn't drop much further tonight. Tomorrow up to 70, but a huge t-storm is rolling in w/t wind hail the works. 49 tomorrow night and dropping Fri's hi 45 night time 36! :shock: I just gotta find him! I just went out and used the flash light. You know, different perspective. No luck He truely may have run inside. He ran past me and into the house earlier this week so I know he knows where the door is.
We don't have fences around here. Just lots of fields, and trees and bushes and cats and dogs, hawks,possum and coons. No need to panic, really he'll be fine. I gotta say another prayer. Please let him be ok. :help:
To top it off today, I thought our two kitties were male. Well one of our little guys didn't get the memo. We are going to have kittens. Katherine is so happy about the kittens, Mama, not so much. She goes from dancing about the kittens to moping about Bogie, poor thing.
I know I joke with Dawn, but I really wish I could drink. I really do need a big drink. Hey, Dawn- Have a few for me will ya'? Think I'll look around inside one more time and then go to bed. No dragon snuggles, or tucking in.... Waaaa!

O my Gosh! I'm so sorry you lost Bogie! I will say lot's of prayers for him and you!!! Don't lose hope..I always let Bubba bask on our deck, he didnt get around to well from his MBD so never thought he would run off...well one day he did and I was like you. I was such a mess and beat myself up...we looked everywhere and no Bubba! We did one last sweep in the yard and under our pourch and low and behold he had dug a hole and was laying in it blending right in! So I know how you must be feeling just keep the faith and know we are all praying for you and Bogie! ((((Big Hugz))))

I'm sorry Sandy. We lost Miss O outside, overnight. Thankfully it was in the middle of September and 60 for a low, this was several years ago. We didn't find her that night but just when we were getting ready to take our other beardie to the vet we saw her outside watching the front door just waiting for us to come and get her. The look on her face was one of complete trust that we would come get her. We both were crying for joy as neither one of us expected to see her ever again.

Oh Sandy....I just read about Bogie and am literally in tears for you and your family, and Bogie too!
I don't even know what to say to make you feel any better. Like Barbara said, please don't be too hard on yourself.I know it's easier said then done.
I too wish I lived nearby...I would be there in a heartbeat to help you search.
I pray that you get up this morning and your little guy is sitting in his cage waiting for you!!!

Oh Sandy, I'm heartsick for you and Katherine, and am praying that you'll find him today........do you have to work today? Is there any way you could set up a fence (like the portable pens they use for dogs out doors that makes a small circle) around the door inside, since your keeping the door open? You could set up a light, favorite blankets, food, etc, in the middle, that way, if Bogie comes in, he'll be enclosed and you won't have to search the whole house to see if he ran back in the house. Someone on the site here, posted pictures in her neighborhood explaining that their beardie was a pet and friendly, and I think the next door neighbor found him in their garden.

Anyway, serious prayers are going out for you and the family, Please keep us posted.......and we've all turned our back on a situation before, but have had a different outcome..........so please don't beat your self up...........so easy for me to say. :silent:
