Bobbing head non-stop ! uggh !

Ever since this morning , when i put him in his new 75 gallon cage he is always bobbing his head(he has a bit before but not much), there is a female dragon on the other side of the room in another cage, but his beard is always black! He won't stop bobbing his head?!? is he trying to claim territory, or mating calls ? so i blocked the females cage with a little blanket (can't see her at all), and he's still doing it ! Haha , even if i hold him he does, and he's running around my bedroom doing it ! he's almost 2 aswell.

Unfortunately, you have a very hormonal male on your hands. He is going to headbob and blackbeard whether he sees the female or not. However, he does know the female is in the same room, so his hormones are flying. It's good that you covered her enclosure. You could always move her to another room. This may slow him down a bit.

He could also be reacting to the new viv. Some beardies doesn't like change and would black beard and headbob everything in the viv until they finally tire out and give in.

Mine head bobbs the cat before he charges...lol. It's a territorial thing just as much as a sexual thing, he's dominateing his springtime terriotry. He just needs you to know whos boss and whos the slave :lol: :twisted: :lol:

Darwin is a lone beardie and is 5 years old. He can not really see any of the other animals except the cats and he is very used to them (even sleeps with Kyndra sometimes) but he has been head bobbing like crazy for the last couple weeks even when no one is in the room! He has a wide view out the window but he is just looking out on lawn and then woods. He smacks his chin on his rock or branch when he gets carried away! :roll: I watch him from my office across the room. What a nutty guy! He has always been mellow to the point of being boring and now he just gets silly!! Spring? Maybe, but it is gray and pouring outside today, but he is nice and bright sunshine yellow
