Sales are way, way, way up. The haters don't represent even the smallest fraction of bearded dragon market. The video has created so much positive response we are already working on a second film.

Perhaps on the "second film" you will explain things that should or shouldn't be done for the health of all beardies.

It's also created a lot of negative responses as well. I didn't post any comments on your video on your Youtube account, but read that some other people did, but their replies weren't approved. Why is that? Why wouldn't you allow the negative comments if for nothing else but to try to clear up the misconceptions about your video. I haven't gone back to the video page and don't intend to so if you have since started to approve negative comments then you can disregard my question.

As for sales being way up, well I guess profit is what's important to you and not the safety and well being of not just the beardies you produce, but beardies everywhere. To me personally, I'd be more concerned about the dangers of others (who aren't experienced with beardies) trying what you did or maybe even going a step further by feeding something else and causing harm to their beardies. I'm talking about the people who watch your video and say, "hey, they fed their's anole... I bet mine could eat a gecko". These same people probably wouldn't have a clue as to why their beardie hasn't been pooping or eating for that matter. That's where the concern comes in. I think your video really would've had a much better impact if it had been narrated to some extent with actual educational material. As it is now it is more or less like a "watch it and take from it what you will" type of video.

As I said before I do thank you for my boy Dewey. He's an amazing little guy and I love him dearly, but in my personal opinion I would've been turned off by your video and would've gone elsewhere. Whether you want to believe it or not, you are undoubtably losing potential customers. In all honesty, your video was not necessary to make these sales. People admire you for your beautiful beardies and would continue to buy them based on that alone. I don't see how a video showing a beardie eating a scorpion or an anole would make a potential buyer say "Oh, wow!! Now I MUST have one of their beardies!". I know for me, and I'm sure there are many others, it was a complete turn off.

The comments I blocked from my video suggested that anoles would cause impaction. I didn't post that comment because it is false. Anoles are ok to feed off and make Great feeders.

My youtube comments are not a free style forum and I am not obligated to treat it as such.

Everything I do effects my potential customers. Some people wont buy from me because I keep my baby dragons on sand. Some people wont buy from me because I don't post pictures of all my breeders. Its something I accept. I am not trying to please everyone. I am focused on my personal breeding goals. I produce very healthy dragons and have excellent customer care/relationships. I do what I do because I love it. The money follows my passion, not the other way around, as some of you suggested.

if they are such great feeders why have i had to treat atleast 20 bearded dragons at our office because they had been fed anoles and were impacted to the point they couldnt use their back legs?

You're 100% right that it is your video / account I'm not arguing that point. What I'm saying is that if I were in your shoes and someone questioned (positively or negatively) material that I put out there, I would use it as a way to educate them. I wouldn't just blow it off as "they have no clue what they're talking about so I'm not approving it". How else will people learn?

I'm not saying that I know for a fact that anoles or scorpions (or any other larger prey item for that matter) could cause impaction because I honestly don't know if they could or not. The general consensus around here seems to show that they can. Just that slight bit of doubt is enough for me to say it's not worth the risk.

Anyway, I think I've said all I really want to say on this issue. I can somewhat understand where you're coming from, but you seem to be completely close minded on what us "haters" are trying to say.

I respect you and what your saying. I get and agree with lots of things that have been said. I just cant respond to all the comments or cover all the angles/concerns. The video is what it is. I love it. I think is very entertaining and educational. Im proud of it.

Im sorry to say, but you definitely lost my custom ..
I have always wanted one of your lovely dragons but after been emailed this , and watching it out of curiosity at college with my friends, I was disgusted and so were my friends.
I love all lizards, and feeding them to each other i find very wrong and upsetting..

Its just unnecessary to feed them anoles etc , with so many risks involved ..

And its far from entertaining..

Steve, I could at first see where you were coming from, though I was confused as to the lack of explanation until pressured. However now, after reading through this thread, I'm completely unimpressed with you as a business owner. I've been avidly watching your mailing list, waiting to see what you would produce, trying to pick and choose from your available dragons, but no more. You've been completely rude to Tastiger, unjustly so. You have no idea what he does for a living, so who are you to say if he's telling the truth or not?

All in all, I've been disgusted with the whole situation, both in the video and how poorly you've handled it.

There is not a single case of anole impaction, anywhere, not on the internet or from any customer I have ever had or any other breeder I have ever known. Now a 19 year old says he has seen 20 cases. lol. obviously he is lying. Impactions can be caused by anything, even salad. They are caused by an underlining parasite infection or bacterial infection. Not caused by superworms, salad or anoles. He is a liar and Im calling him out.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
