Hi i need some information so i can help Mufasa out.
I got her as a rescue. The guy said if i did not get her he was gonna just drop her off his balcony he was sick of dealing with her. I have had her for several months and still trying to get her use to me. She tries to bite me daily so i handle her with gloves but i still handle her and talk to her all the time.
Anyway, she is not very active and was wondering if there is something i can do to get her enjoying life and not sleeping all the time. She moves to lay somewhere else or to go back to sleep. That really can not be good for her to sleep that much. She is like a bear in hibernation ! Yes, she is blind, her eyes are totally black and looks like someone stuck a pin or something small in them. :evil: I am not sure what happened and neither is the vet. But the vet here could not even tell me how old she is so i don't know.

that is a horribile story i hate hearing stuff like that ... what kind of person is so cruel that they would drop her off the balcony thats so messed up. do you have to feed her? does she eat on her own? how much do u know about beardies?do u have more than 1? could it be possibile she is burmating is it winter were you live? is she lossing a lot of weight? whats the lights u have for her cage?

Hello Mufasa's Mom, first off tell that guy that I would like to kick him in the head or better yet Throw him off the balcony!! So glad he got a new home!! Read the tabs at the top of the page, there is tons of great info there that will help you! And http://www.beautifuldragons.503xtreme.com/Nutrition.html is a list of good and bad things you can feed! Yes he may be going into or already in burmation. You need to give him a bath and let him soak!! Did the vet do a fecal? Thank you so much for giving this little one a fighting chance at life! We won't go into what I'd like to do with the creap you got her from.

So we can help you a bit, could you tell us about her current set up? Things like lighting, what kind of uvb and heat. What are her temps and how do you measure them? What does she eat and how much. Oh, and pictures, of her and her viv. We do love pictures here. Also picts will give us some clues to her health.
Giving her a nice warm bath daily will help get her properly hydrated.
A couple of tips to help her adjust to you handling her: Put a T shirt that you have worn in there and lay her on it at bed time for a few nights in a row. After a couple nights, after lights out, (when she is too cooled off to fight you) take her out and wrap her in a soft cloth or little blankie. Hold her on your chest for a while, let her get used to the smell and feel of you. Then lay her in her viv still wrapped up. Few keep fighting after a few sessions with the "beardie burrito". Many get so spoiled they want to be wraped up every night! :lol:
