Hello, it's been a very long time since I've logged in, but I am concerned about my beardie and you guys know your stuff.
Daliz has had a very black beard that extends down his chest most of yesterday until he fell asleep, and all of today even now as he's been asleep for a couple hours. He may be able to see the females from his house, but I'm not sure as it hasn't been a problem in the past 7 months he's been there. I can't think of any new stressors either, though I've been super stressed and haven't been giving him as much attention. It may be nothing but he's really worrying me.
How old is your dragon? 7 years old
How long have you had your dragon? Since he was a few months old.
How long is your dragon? 22 in.
What is the sex of your dragon? Male
What size enclosure do you have your dragon in? 40 gal breeder.
What type substrate do you have on the bottom of your tank? Tile on shelf liner.
Do you use UVB lights? Yes.
If so, Is it a coil, compact, fluorescent tube, or Mercury Vapor bulb? Fluorescent.
What is the brand name and number of your bulb? Wattage (if MVB)? Reptisun 10.
How old is your UVB bulb? 5 months.
How close can your dragon get to the UVB? 5 inches.
Do you use a separate basking bulb? What kind and what is the wattage? Is it a white or colored bulb? Yes, 100 watt white bulb.
What are the basking temps? 98
What is the cool side temp? 85, 70 at night.
Do you take the temps with a stick on thermometer, a digital thermometer with a wire and a probe end or a temp gun? Digital and a probe end.
Where exactly are you taking your basking temps? On basking log and next to hide on cool side.
Do you use a heat rock or heat pad? No.
What do you feed your dragon? Please be specific. Hasn't had his superworms/crickets in a while. Mostly wants his collards and give an occasional strawberry/banana/Repcal dragon food.
How often do you feed and what time do you feed (morning, afternoon, night)? Afternoon.
Do you gutload (feed) your crickets, worms, etc? Yes.
Do you use vitamin or calcium supplements? What brand(s)? How many days a week do you use each of them? Calcium w/D3 weekly.
Is your dragon having regular bowel movements (poops)? Yes.
Do you bath your dragon? How often? Good soak weekly, little dips in between.
Do you mist your dragon or offer water other than in the bath? Yes.
Have you gotten a vet check and fecal done? Not for a couple years.
Does your dragon share an enclosure with another dragon? No.
