Hello fellow beardy lovers,
Mr.Marv has been to the vets today and unfortunatley has a suspected ear infection so has had a shot of baytril, anti-inflamotry and vitamins and has been put on baytril 2.5%
Dosage is 1.2mls orally every other day, (only as i dont feel confident injecting him myself at home) 7 - 10 doses she said 7 but has given me enough for 10 doses
when i asked about pro biotic she said just to use nutrobal which is calcium and d3 or the unbranded "handrearing forumla" they have given me, However I know from reading alot on here that probiotics are nessacery after antibiotics.
Also had a blood sample taken, awaiting results for that.
Just wondering what is the best option (im in the uk) so far iv come up with:
Following from vetark site:
Vetark Reptoboost -probiotic combination of bacteria, enzymes, electrolytes and vitamins
REPTOBOOST contains:
- Lactobacillus which live for a short time in the gut, helping to stabilise the pH.
- electrolytes to aid in maintaining adequate levels in reptiles with diarrhoea which lose electrolytes
and maltodextrins for sustained energy
-or-
Vetark Avipro Plus - Avipro Plus is our gold-standard veterinary probiotic combination of bacteria, enzymes, electrolytes and vitamins
AVIPRO PLUS contains:
- Lactobacillus acidophilus which lives for a short time in the gut, helping to stabilise the pH.
- Fructo-oligosaccharide soluble fibre prebiotic to encourage the probiotics and make them even more effective. Soluble fibre also improves absorption
- Vitamin A, C and E to compensate tfor the losses occurring during stress and to maximise protection
-or-
ACIDOPHILLZ - cant find any other info on this other than what is on this site,
anybody with direct experience point me in the right direction?
Cheers and merry xmas!!
