Hey there! I recently was given a female bearded dragon that has issues with her muscles. They do not twitch (like in mbd) but she has a very hard time controlling them. Her back legs seem to have the least amount of control, which leaves her doing the military crawl with the front legs. Even her front legs have some limitations, she seems to be tripping over them. The breeder that I got her from said that when she hatched she was completely normal, but about a month afterwards, she started in with the loss of control of her back legs. Her appetite is normal and so is her attitude. The care she received before was this:
Food:
Mealworms, waxworms, crickets
Heat:
Basking temps 110-115
Cool 80
UVB-Reptisun 10 - 14" away no screen
under tank heater
She now has (with me):
Food:
freshly shed "white" dubia roaches
lobster roaches
occasional crickets, but she has trouble with the hunt
Mustard, Collard, Turnip, Danellion greens
Heat:
basking 108-115
cool 75-80
UVB~ Reptisun 10
Calcium dusted food daily, vitamins 2x/wk
Given that info, and I probably left something out... Has anyone ever heard of this? Do you know if it can be corrected? I have been doing therapy with her, as a human gets with muscular dystrophy and there isn't any kind of change. Any suggestions?
Thanks
