Beardie's tail paler then body

I recently got got my first bearded dragon tiny about six days ago from petco he's really small and only a few months old I cant tell you exactly because he had been in the pet store for a bit before I got him. He was really skinny and was living on a diet of Romain and mealworms since then I've fattened him up a bit by feeding him things he's actually supposed to be eating but I came home today and noticed that his tail is a pale gray color and the rest of him is his normal color. Should I be worried? Is there something wrong with him? He let's me pick him up and I noticed he had eaten.

Could he be shedding?

It sounds like it could be shedding.

My BD sheds in sections - first the tail and then the body. It goes a dull colour and the turns whitish before shedding
