my beardies left eye has been closed all day... first day i noticed this.... when he does occasionally open his eye theres a small cloudy dot... wat does this mean?? could it be hes not getting enough vitamins??
What UVB type are you using? If it's a coil or compact bulb, suggest you turn it off right away as those can do eye damage. Fill us in on what you have & how close that bulb is to your beardie and we can help further. Also, is your basking bulb a white or colored bulb? How long has he/she been keeping her eye closed? Do you see any discharge from it?
its a trex mercury vapor bulb... and hes had it since i got him in december.... hes eating healthy... and hes actually shedding on his head rite now.... just the eye thing is new.... his bulb is clear and is bout 11 1/2 to 12 inches away from his basking area... no discharge and just noticed this yesterday... so id say bout one day so far.
Do you still have him in a 20 gallon tank? How did you make out with the temps and what are they in the basking and cool side? You should measure the exact distance to the bulb, then let me know what it is. Are you using loose substrate on the bottom of the tank? How often are you using the calcium and vitamins? How do you keep him hydrated?
The basking area is usually around 95. The cooler side is roughly 85. I dust his crickets once a day with calcium during the week and with vitamins on the weekends. I mainly keep him hydrated by puting water on his snout so he can drink it as it drips. He has the grass type reptile carpet. And his exact distance he can get to the light is 11 1/2 inches.
