Beardie waiting up for me

Hi guys & gals

Every Tuesday I go and visit my dad and for the last 3 weeks when I get home 10/11pm my 3 month old beardie is still awake but lying in the sleep position. I have been home for 15/20 mins and its fast asleep now. When I am here it always goes straight to sleep at lights out 8pm.

Has anyone heard of this happening before?

My Nim does it. I don't have a timer so if I'm late in returning home he can't exactly sleep because of the lights. I know he does wait for his nightly snuggles. I think it's sweet that your beardie can't sleep without you there. It must really trust and like you.

I have a timer so it's not that.

I wish my beardie loved me like that. But it only likes me when it's food time. Otherwise It's a little **** when I try to pick it up it runs off and gives me dirty looks haha.It hadn't gone number 2 for 2 days so I had to bath it. It was going crazy trying to get away from me. I ended up having to take out most of the deco out of the viv, throwing a dish cloth over it and picking it up like that, wow. lol. Once I'm holding it, its not so bad but it just hates being picked up.

My Nim hates being picked up out of his cage too. I have no idea why. He loves me, but just hates the hand coming down. And your beardie will get used to you soon. It took Nim three weeks to love me. Just talk to it, hold it and soon it'll wait for nightly snuggles like my Nimmy!

Mine waits up for my boyfriend even though mommy is the one cleaning the cage...daddy just sits online xD
