My husband and I have decided to wait till we are settled into base housing before we get a beadier, we are hoping to be moving at the end of the year but who knows. I started looking for more information after a show when we passed buying two up to learn more. After a little time here I have come up with a little timeline that I would like you guys to take a look at.
We have a 125 gal, 6 foot floor that we plan to split between two females.
Between moving and when we get the little ones we will be setting up the tank and buying everything. Plan to make a platform for both of them.
Looking between 4 and 8 months.
Planning to buy a starter up colony of roaches 4 months before we plan to get them. 3 months is what it seems like to get a good colony going the extra month is a safe guard.
Place a repti worm order the day we go get them, or the day we order them, figure it will come a few days after we have them home and we can start adding them to the diet as soon as they come.
Also going to order other worms about 2 months into have them but for the first two months I want to stick to the roaches and reptiworms. This is along with veggies, figure this will give them more then enough time to settle in and for us to see how they are doing. Can't see any reason why we would need to be feeding a bunch of worms if the roaches and reptiworms will do fine at raising them up.
Question, can I feed both the roaches and the worms in the same feeding bowl or will the roaches munch on the worms?
Can anyone see what is wrong with our timeline? Changes you think we should make based on your life with your beardies?
For ordering worms we plan to order from, lindasgonebuggie, mulberry farms, greatlake hornworms, Elliott butters, and reptiworms.
has anyone had any problems with any of theses places? We are not sure where we want to order the roaches from yet, still going through sites. Any that we should stay away from?
I think that's about it. Questions? Thoughts?
Thank you!
