Beardie Tail Amputation

My bearded dragon has a dead nub on the end of his tail, it's started traveling up the tail and I'm afraid it will have to be amputated to keep this from continuing, so he doesn't end up losing his whole tail. Who has had this done somewhere in Missouri, and what did it cost?

Greetings Sam, and I'm sorry it's with such troubling news...

How long has this been going on? Are you able to provide a photo?

I have no experience with amputations but I do know it is basically the last ditch effort to save or better the welfare of an animal - I'm sure someone on these boards has some experience with things like these.
