Beardie Snuggles After an Impossible Day

Today was just impossible and both my beardies wanted to come out and snooze on my shoulders tonight after lights out. I swear I felt my blood-pressure drop. I don't know how these little lizards affect me like this, but I'm so grateful they do. I had a root canal today and I have always had trouble "finding my happy place," but this time I was able to imagine the feel of Banzai on my shoulder from the night before and my breathing got way better.

I don't know where these guys have been all my life, but I am so glad they're here. I feel like it's my job to give them the best, happiest lives possible. Tonight, I'm just happy to have beardies.

I'm glad to hear they were helpful. I've certainly had plenty of days when I come home and sitting with my dragon has made me relax and feel much better.

I have heart troubles and i swear if my meds arent kicking in fast enough one beardie kiss and snuggle seems help slow it down. I have several other conditions that he helps with. Some days i cant get out of bed due to pain emotionally and physically but then i remember the sweet little dragon waiting for me in the living room and i make myself get up. Once im in here and looking into those little eyes as he kisses me and plays shirt pin or hugs my thumb while i get the human kids up for school (or at least the 3 older ones) it seems to actually go away for a short time. They seem to be healers in their own right. That and he has my husband loving up on him and my husband was deathly afraid of lizards until he met Draconis! One little kiss and my husband was hooked he even calls out to him when he walks in the room he calls him "My Boy!!" and he is referred to as our son.

It is nice to see that others have such sweet little ones that do the same thing for them.

I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one. I've had some pretty lousy days, and those little lizards really do help.

They seriously should list them as therapy animals.....

I totally agree! My son has always had a reptile of some sort. I was never really interested then he brought home Toothless and well the interest began. The research and the planning. I actually got a job for the first time in year's as I have been raising the 4 kids. My youngest was turning 13 and turned Vegan on me but I was feeling like I didn't have a purpose really anymore so I got a job at the local butcher shop, funny enough and then March 31st baby came home.
I post because I have been taking anxiety pills and just feeling Winter blues. Since she came home and really is so loving and snuggly that is was what the doctor ordered. I am feeling at peace with my freaky lizard love. Lol.
I love reading what others doing and thinking and playing on here also. I just love saying I'm happy and it's all thanks to her

lol i love the plant camo and what is that shes riding on? I got my baby march 1st and he really was so tiny he was literally just a ring!! he still claims that thumb as his but can only hug it now! I know hes a he because when i went to look the little lines popped out and said "why hello....!!" funny thing is i can pet his tail and he will lay it down but if anyone else touches it it springs back up and he shifts about looking for me like "MOMMY THEY TOUCHED MY TAIL!!!" I am on meds for anxiety, depression, pain, muscle spasms, my heart beats faster than normal and at times wont stop until i literally black out, and i get severe migraines. I have scoliosis, PTSD, arthritis, adhd, and a crumbling upper back. I also nearly died a couple years back due to my appendix bursting and a whole slew of things caused by being sick for 3 weeks prior. I have been hit with several medical books backwards, forwards, under, over, and sideways....:D I am also partially blind on one side (95% blind in my right peripheral) and have hypersensitive hearing. i cant even go out without my skin crawling because i know some weird person will want to TOUCH me and i dont like to be touched by random people!!! Draconis helps keep me from getting too bad and on my worst days one little hug helps A LOT.:D i love my kids and husband but sometimes they can make the problem worse. It is just something about those tiny little eyes and cute little scaly hands hugging me that makes it better. :D

I wanted to hit the like button on your post. Haha
The giraffe is a ty plush phone holder. It works really well in the car in park. Lol. I actually just got to pick out a car for mothers day this year and I found a Kia Rio. It is cute and little but has this small triangle window over dash that I am going to get a hammock to hang there for car rides. I now walk around with a hoodie on backward at all times. I need to find something sleeveless with hood for summer.

i thought it was a giraffe but some shrimp plushies look like that.... have you ever thought of making a beardie carrier for her? one you wear like a baby carrier.

:love5: It was so good to read all of your stories. When my babies came along I had depression so bad that I wasn't getting out of bed until the afternoon. I realized I could leave the house again when it was to fetch my babies food, and I particularly loved nighttime cuddles with them. They made me feel happy when I thought I never would again. It's one of the reasons that I feel I owe them the best possible life I can give them--they brought me back from the brink.

I have been looking for something like that. I'm not very crafty through. I'll have to look on line. Good idea
you could use an old hood from an old hoodie as a pattern to emprovise one that can be hooked to your shirt collar and has a clasp or band that buttons or hooks like a necklace in the back....it can be bade ot fit and number of t shirts so you dont have to find a sleeveless hoodie! :D

Tonight I have to do writing-from-home work late--it might even take all night. :banghead: The temperature in our house is in the mid-seventies and both my beardies are cuddling me. The temperature isn't too cold for them for nighttime, so I think I might just leave them cuddling for the time being. They're keeping me from losing it about this topic I'm barely familiar with that I somehow have to write 2000 words about. If only it were an article about beardies....

Well, it did in fact take all night and they cuddled all night and didn't seem to mind one bit. Now I've got to put them back in their terrariums so they can get warmed up and be happy. :D

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
