beardie size

My beardie is about 7 months old and about 12 1/2 inch. long but it's mostly tail. Good size?

he gets about 25-30 large crix a day 12-15 in the morning and night and usually 3/4 to a whole bowl of turnip greens in the middle. He's in a 40 gal with a compact reptisun5.0 but I positioned it inside the tank.

Do you only put that many crickets in, or more and that is all he eats? Different beardies grow at different rates.

With your uvb, the contact bulbs even the repti-suns have been known to cause problems. With out the proper uvb, it can cause stunted growth. The only safe and highly recommended bulb in the US is the repti-sun 10.0 linear tube. With a 40 Gallon breeder, a 24" would be ideal.
