Beardie not pooing.

Hi, I usually only post when my beardie is not being regular and I need to consult you guys "the oracles of dragons" anyway....

Diet:

Spaghetti squash (daily)
Collard Greens (daily)
Processed bits (bearded dragon bites) (daily)
Butterworms several times a week
Fresh water (daily)

I use a reptisun 10.0 uvb with a 150watt heat bulb in a tiled tank and keep it at the acceptable temp of 110 degrees at the basking spot and its about 20 degrees cooler around the tank.

My beardie has not pooed in a looooong time. However he is not dropping weight, I bathe him weekly and give him gentle but pressured belly massages to help him poo. And there is no sign of impaction or pain. He sometimes likes to be active but other times he just sleeps under fake vegetation. The last time he pooed it was normal but rather large. I am worried he is still not getting enough fiber. He only eats the spaghetti squash sometimes but he mostly eats the collard greens. I think he is doing fine but the not pooing part especially since its july and not brumation is really worrying me. What should I do? thanks all advice is appreciated.

Hi there....how long has it actually been ? I take it that Pete is an adult, or at least nearly ? He may be partly dehydrated, you can knock his temps. down by 10 degrees on both the hot and the cool side.... most adults don't like it over 100 even for basking, and he may be hanging out under the plants trying to escape the heat. Do you ever see him drink ? Try to offer water via syringe or gentle stream from a spray bottle, mopping up any excess.

His diet sounds good, collards are an A+ food item with plenty of fiber. Have you tried other greens like turnip + mustard ? So to try to get him to poo [ which he will soon I'm sure ] you can offer any or a combo of the following : applesauce, baby food prunes or squash, canned pumpkin [ no spices ] all natural fruit juice added to water and a few drops of veg. oil. Then give him an extra warm bath that is a bit deeper than usual. This alone can stimulate the bowels.

Hopefully he will soon be back to his " regular" self. :)

Wow this sounds pretty serious. I will get a weaker bulb or I will raise the lamp asap. I was under the impression with a water bowl and regular batheing he would be fine? Since that isn't the case I will offer with a spray bottle as he will certainly not like a syringe and I have seen him drink water off the fake vegetation before. I will try canned pumpkin it seems like a food that he might like and its something I havent tried yet.

Ok so I tried giving him water with a syringe anyway and he started drinking right away. I think you were right about dehydration. I am going to menards first thing in the morning and ill build a lamp stand to lower his temps. THANKS SOOOO MUCH :)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
