beardie looks like he's hiccuping...

hey everyone!

so my beardie does this thing alot...after he has eaten, after a bath, when he sees other people...and just for no reason too.

it looks like he has hiccups or something...its not head bobbing, it looks like he is swallowing, but he does it like 5-10 times in a row, like hiccups...


what do you think it could be? does it mean something, good or bad?


any thoughts would help...thanks!!

I think they do that when they are mad. Mine will do it in the bath everytime. He hates the bath.
He does do it othertimes too tho.

I would be interested to know if it is something other than getting mad.

I don't think its being mad. Smurf does it after he gets all the crickets, sometimes even before he's caught them all. That's the only change in behavior from his normal, and he doesn't seem to control it.

If he is a baby yet he may be learning to use his beard! But as long as their is no clicking or wheezing you are fine!! Good luck, any more questions just ask!!

I have a question on this subject. When Ziggy takes a bath he puffs all up, puffs his beard in and out and occaionally huffs (the sound of pushing air thru your nose forcefully). I contribute it to him hating the bath and having a temper tantrum.... It's the only time he gets this worked up and the only time he does the huffing thing. Is that ok? he is 3 1/2 months and 13+ inches, if that helps.

My 9 month old does that when she gets p.o.ed at me (baths and when I'm trying to put her back in her tank) and has ever since I've had her.
