Hello there.

I am new in the forum.
I needed advise and what to do with the juvenile beardie. I got it 2 days ago from a pet shop. I think its a girl. She looks like 5-6 months for me. They told me from pet shop that someone else had her and they didn't want her anymore so they took it back. I saw her and I wanted her she was so not moving and unhappy in that pet shop. She is soo quite and not moving around. I read a lot on what she may has but still not sure. I am hoping its not MBD. She is really eating but only hand feeding. She has no energy to stand in her hands and back legs to eat alone...she looks really lazy to move. I had her a warm bath yesterday I see her back legs are soo weak like there dead the muscles to move or something... she drink-ed so much water that I am sure the other people that had her, they had her really dehydrated and no right lights and cold!! I am thinking to tell that to the pet store, don't know what to do. I want to save her she is still a baby. I am sure she might has a brumation maybe? Or MBD  hopefully not! or if she was in a sand before and she eat that and now she is not pooping either. She loves looking at me she let me touch her but she doesn't move much and pooping!! Please help me I want to make her active!! Only today I saw her moving more now little bit then yesterday. I am trying my best to rescue that baby from where she was before!!!:/

Hello. It is defiantly not brumation as she is too young, sadly it is probably MBD if she had no proper lighting. What UV bulb do you have now? You need a ReptiSun 10.0 TUBE STYLE bulb. Not the coil/compact kind. What substate do you have now? What food do you feed her? What are her temperatures and how do you measure these? Please give us anymore available information.

I don't know what they others had her before. I am using a Solar glo 125w UV/heat http://www.exo-terra.com/en/products/solar_glo.php and for the night ceramic heat 100w are they okay i guess? At day time she has 32-38 Celsius degrees some other spots are cooler and night time 23-26 Celsius degrees. I am feeding her small crickets and waxworms, mealworms and the greens she needs. All of them I dust them with Calcium+D3 and vitamin. I am bathing her 2 days now once a day and help her to drink water and she is moving a little bit more around the cage today!! She did poop today while i bath her and she was swimming around like crazy!! But still don't know if she has a MBD from before that the others didn't gave her the right light and calcium. How to I know if she got's that? and how to make it better if she has that??

The 125w Solar Glo should sit 20-30cm above the basking site for optimal UVB output. You may need supplemental heat if that doesn't provide adequate temps (the CHE can help with this). Shoot for daytime temps of about 38-42 in the basking area and 24-27 on the cool side. At night, the temps should stay above about 18. I like to keep the temps between about 20-23 or so overnight.

Having proper UVB exposure and a well balanced diet with calcium supplement will help halt the progression of MBD but it can't be reversed. Keep offering the supplemented bugs along with high calcium veges such as collard greens.

The Solar is 30cm above her basking and the cooler place has 24-28 degrees. So I will try and put maybe a heat mat to increase a little bit more the heating to go more then 36 then!

I suggest trying to increase heat from above so she can more easily regulate it. Try lowering the SolarGlo a little bit to maybe 25cm if you can (which will also provide increased but safe UVB levels) to bump temps up slightly. You can also try moving the CHE next to the SolarGlo and turn it on during the day. A pulse dimming thermostat will allow you to automate it and have it only kick on as needed to keep the temps in a certain range. Otherwise you can change the height to get the correct temps. I've found adjustable lamp stands to be quite valuable for this.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
