Please help, my bearded dragon, Sherbert, hasn't shed his shoulders (the little flaps of skin with the dark skin above his actual shoulders), and it has been a while.
He's a 4 month old male that has recently started to shed. He already shedded his limbs, tail, and head, and is now beginning the shedding process of his torso. (It's all white, but not flaking yet.) He shedded his head a while ago, which is suppose to include his shoulders (again, the little flaps), although not all of the shed has come off yet. Little tips of old skin are still hanging off the flaps, which thankfully, are not stuck IN his skin but are still hanging ON his skin. It's flaky and looks ready to come off, but I'm scared to rip it off and to injure him, so I don't know what to do. I don't know if it's part of his torso shed as well, but I hope it doesn't cause serious blood-flow restrictions.
Setup:
50 gallon tank
Substrate: Non-adhesive shelf liner
Heat Lamp: Bright white 70 watt flood light
UVB: Reptisun 10.0 T5HO florescent tube
Both lights 10 inches away from basking area
Basking temperature: 105-110 degrees
Hot side is 80-90 degrees and cool side is 70-80 degrees
His lights are new and don't need to be replaced.
Yes, I give him baths weekly. I recently had to give him a lot of baths since he's been poop-staining his tail. (He's become a dirty boy.) I don't mist him because I don't have a spray battle, but he's very hydrated and healthy and not showing any other signs of sickness.
