Beardie has two swollen front limbs

When I got home today and let my dragon out for a bath I noticed while he was in the water that his front legs were swollen. He doesn’t seem to feel any pain or flinch when I touch them, and he seemed perfectly able to walk, jump, and climb when he was back in his cage. They both have turned lighter and are gonna shed soon and the shed is right over where it’s swollen if that could be related. He eats a lot of bugs but also a lot of vegetables and fruit. I think he might be eating too much though so I’m gonna put him on a diet and try to feed him primarily vegetables and fruits for a while.
The bugs he eats are primarily super worms and dubia roaches with occasional Phoenix worms and tomato worms
He eats a lot of kale and although I’ve tried to get him to eat other fruits he will only eat blueberries
He literally never stops eating
He is about 2/2.5 years old
He has a 160 Watt uvb light a 150 watt heat light and a 100 watt night light
He has a 40 gallon tank with tile on the bottom
Hasn’t pooped in about 5 days
Hot side under his light is about 100-110 Fahrenheit
Cool side is around 70-80 Fahrenheit I believe

Is this something to be concerned about?

Yes, the arms getting ready to shed makes it look like they are bigger than they are. He looks good + healthy . :)
BTW, does he have an actual light for the night or is it a ceramic heater. ? [ CHE ] If you use a light, it's better to get a CHE that produces heat but no light, the light can disrupt their sleep.

It is an actual light not a CHE but the light doesn’t seem to bother him and he has no trouble falling or staying asleep. I’m glad that he’s most likely completely fine and healthy, although is it something to be concerned about that he hasn’t pooped in a while? He normally does when I put him in the bath but he hasn’t lately, I think it could be possibly impaction from superworms and if that’s the case how can I help him?

O.K, some natural laxatives that work very well are any or all of these : baby food squash, sweet potato or prunes. Canned pumpkin [ no spices , unsweetened applesauce and even iceberg lettuce.

BTW, as they get older, a poo every 5 days can be quite normal so no need to worry. :) Those soft foods will def. help though, and sometimes a warmer than usual bathe will work as well.

Hello,

He does look pretty good & has a great shape. It appears his front arms are going to shed.
Can you review your tank setup a bit more, such as the brand of MVB you are using? How far
from him is it? Are you using the 160 watt MVB in combination with another 150 watt heat
lamp?
That is quite a bit of wattage for a 40 gallon tank. Are you using a digital probe or a temp
gun to measure the temperatures?
As an adult, he needs only around 40-50 insects weekly, in combination with his greens &
veggies. Kale is ok, it has been shown not to bind calcium to the extent it was once thought.
So, it is fine to feed on a regular basis along with another type of green, too. Spinach though
shouldn't be given on a regular basis, it will bind calcium.

The brand of of the mvb light is Exo Terra, all of his lights are located up in his basking area and are 6-8 inches from where he lays
And as it turns out the heat lamp is only 100 watt (Also Exo Terra) and the mvb is still 160 and I use them both at the same time
Its a zoo med thermometer with a humidity and a temp gauge it is but it’s not very good so I may need a new one soon (I work at a pet store so supplies are fairly easy to get and afford)

Thank you for the suggestions I will make sure to feed him whichever of those I have or I’ll go out and get some tomorrow

Hello,

Ok, that sounds good. I would recommend either a digital probe or temp gun just to be sure
the temps are alright for him.
The Exoterra Solar Glo 160 watts is ok, it is nice & bright. The UVB ratings & levels are decent
but they aren't real strong though. They should be fine for awhile. For extra UVB, you could
consider a T5 tube such as the Reptisun 10 or the Arcadia D3 12% or 14%. It would give off a lot
more UVB & is a great combination with a MVB too.
How is he doing today?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
