beardie has a parasite

so i have a bearded dragon (Aspen) who is about 7-8 months old. i took him to the vet for the first time for a "health and wellness" checkup and he was in excellent health according to the vet. which is very good obv but i did take a fecal sample to check for that as well and he had something called "coccidia". the doc said it was very common and that i shouldn't worry, he gave me some meds as well and i wanted to get you're guys opinions on these and such. ill link pictures to them so you can see. other than this parasite aspen is completely healthy. the only reason i bring this up is because i have read all kinds of bad things about this medicine tho when i ask the vet he says its perfectly fine and has no side affects at all. i also called 3 other reputable reptile vets, they also told me the same thing the first one said, that it was perfectly fine. http://i1286.photobucket.com/albums/a601/doompvp/photo11_zpsed6d0e3e.jpg

Hello,

I am sorry your dragon has coccidia. Did they tell you the levels/counts at all?
Was he doing well despite having coccidia? Most dragons have very low levels of it in their systems anyway as the natural normal flora of bacteria.
What is the dose on the syringes, .5mls? Do you know what the concentration is of that by chance?
Albon is hard on their systems & if you use it you will need to keep him hydrated along with giving a probiotic as well to help offset the affects of the meds.
Is he eating really well right now?

oh yea hes doing really good, and eating super well, they didint tell me levels of it but yea hes doing well. could you link some probiotics that i can buy for him?

Hello,

That is great he is doing so well & eating good too. It doesn't appear that it is bothering him right now.
Is he taking oral fluids also?
You can purchase acidophiliz from www.reptilesupply.com
Or you can also try going by the store to find non dairy soy yogurt also which works well also!
