Hey, my beardie "Medusa" has not been eating much lately she use to eat 10 or more superworms a day plus greens now she barely eats anything. How can I tell if she's sick or not ( like what are some symptoms or signs of sickness ). Please get back to me.

Thanks, Evan

Hello. In order for us to figure out why your beardie is acting strangely we will need to know more about him/her. If you could answer these questions it will help us figure out whats going on.

How old is your dragon?
How long have you had your dragon?
How long is your dragon?
What is the sex of your dragon?
What size enclosure do you have your dragon in?
What type substrate do you have on the bottom of your tank?
Do you use UVB lights?
If so, Is it a coil, compact, fluorescent tube, or Mercury Vapor bulb?
What is the brand name and number of your bulb? Wattage (if MVB)?
How old is your UVB bulb?
How close can your dragon get to the UVB?
Do you use a separate basking bulb? What kind and what is the wattage?
What are the basking temps?
What is the cool side temp?
Do you take the temps with a stick on thermometer, a digital thermometer with a wire and a probe end or a temp gun?
Where exactly are you taking your basking temps?
Do you use a heat rock or heat pad?
What do you feed your dragon? Please be specific.
How often do you feed and what time do you feed (morning, afternoon, night)?
Do you gutload (feed) your crickets, worms, etc?
Do you use vitamin or calcium supplements? What brand(s)? How many days a week do you use each of them?
Is your dragon having regular bowel movements (poops)?
Do you bath your dragon? How often?
Do you mist your dragon or offer water other than in the bath?
Does your dragon share an enclosure with another dragon?
Have you gotten a vet check and fecal done?

you can also take a look at some of the care sheets on here just to go over how your tank is set up while you wait for a reply! http://www.beardeddragon.org/articles/

Hi...Can you answer some questions please...
How old is Medusa?
How long is she?
What size is your tank?
What substrate is on the floor?
What is the brand & number of your UVB? Is it a long fluorescent tube, compact, coil, or MVB?
How close can he get to his UVB?
What is the watts of his heat light? Is it colored or white?
What is the temp of his basking spot?
What is the temp of his cool spot?
What do you use to take temps? stick on, temp gun, digital with a probe at the end of a wire?
Being specific, what do you offer for food?
How often does she poop? What does it look like? Has it changed? Does it smell really bad?
If you could answer these questions, maybe we can find something that needs to be tweeked.
Good luck

You should take your beardie in to get a fecal test... it's really quite cheap, maybe $20-30. It's probably just cocydia(sp?).

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
