Bearded dragons legs lock up when moving?

Hey everyone!
I’m here about my MBD rescue gal Athena. Her legs have always locked up when she tries to move fast, but I didn’t really pay much attention to it until last night. It’s every single time she attempts to “run” and sometimes when she’s just walking. I always assumed it was part of her MBD but last night a friend and I were talking and she has a Beardie who’s legs do the same thing. She said she was told it was muscular dystrophy, or at least the bearded dragon equivalent. Her Beardie walks just like Athena and his legs lock up just like hers.
Any thoughts on this? There doesn’t seem to be a lot of research about muscular dystrophy in bearded dragons. Has anyone here had some sort of experience with it? Over time, how heavily would it impact her health and or lifespan?
Athena is still going strong! She’s a permanent resident here now, but otherwise she and my other rescues are good!

Hello,

That's too bad, poor Athena, how frustrating!
There isn't much information on that for lizards, but have been maybe a couple of folks on here
awhile back with similar types of issues.
Since she does have metabolic bone disease I'm sure that has contributed some. Do you give her
a liquid calcium to help & maybe some vitamins & minerals in case she is lacking in the trace
minerals?

She does get liquid calcium as needed (usually she gets 5-7 days every 1-2 months, depending on how many bad days she has in a row). She gets D3 and bee pollen supplements.
I think she’s got neurogenic atrophy now that I’ve looked more into it. Luckily, I can keep a close on her in case of any sudden change!
She actually has a vet appointment this week, just as a check up and a little peace of mind. Hoping all goes well!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
