bearded dragon not eating

I have just recently bought a 2year old bearded dragon form my friend. had him since last friday. but just today he hasent eatten all day?? should i be worried? theirs been 2 hoppers(alive) in tank since this morning,their still their he looks fine,gave him a drink 2 to see if was tht.
I gave him mealworms yesterday 4 the first time, can tht have anything to do with it?? :? :? :?

First of all, get the hoppers out of the tank. They can bite and injure your BD. At the very least they will annoy and stress him. Was it being fed hoppers as a staple? If so you need to change that. An adult bearded dragon will consume mostly vegetable product with crickets about every other day or so and occasionally some type of worm or fruit matter. Pinky mice can be given to gravid females to help with calcium but feeding hoppers is completely unnecessary. As for the mealworms they are not the greatest thing for bearded dragons but I don't think a few will hurt a healthy adult. Can you go over your setup and the size of your BD. Make sure to include temps and UV used.

took the hioppers out tank.dont know what you mean (staple) ?? :? ave tryed giving him carrot,broccoli,peas,sweetcorn. but disni like any of them. would u recommend crickets instead?

hes 9" body with a 11" tail
tank size = 47" long Temps= 85/90
= 27" high = dalight spot 100w
= 12" width = am using uv but dont no strengh?

How are you measuring the temps?
If you are not using a probe thermometer (about 6 bucks at walmart) or a laser (about 20 bucks online) your measurements of temp may be off. The Daytime temp for a beardie needs to be about 105. If it is lower, or higher, it can have a negative impact on their appetite. I have a female that had hookworms a little over a year ago, and getting her to eat is an ordeal.

ave got a thermometer inside the tank, my temps lower than what you are saying? think that could be problem? its at 85 / 90 thro the day and at nyte is 60. can this be afecting my beardie?
he not eating today either? v.worrired

What kind of themometer inside the tank? If it is a stick one or one with a dial it is probally giving you inaccurite readings. your temps may be too low and causing digestion problems causing it not to eat. You will need to give it proper uvb also, I cant remember what you said you had but you will need a reptisun 10.0 or a mvb if your cage allows for it. You will probaly need to get him to a reptile vet if he doesn't start eating soon though. And yes I would reccomend crickets for sure.

its a round one with dial,stuck on inside. its go EXO TERRA on it. does tht help? ave got a 100w EXO TERRA basking spot lamp. its says 85 on the temp thro the day and nyte it goes to 65. are the temps off? al phone a vet a.s.a.p. al change his eating to crickets anaw.

Your dial themometer is almost probaly off. I dont know where you from but I got a accurite themometer from walmart for 12 dollars. If you cant find one you can get a temp gun online. Its good you are calling a vet, please let us know what they say.

all get a new themoteter, am from scotland anaw. would you get 1 from your pet store or better ordering it online? dae hink weve got a walmart?? a got the vets nxt thurs? thts the soonest they have a appointment
he eat 1 last nyte when i was handling him. gave him a bath this morning and he had 2 grasshopper am gawni order crickets online 4 him. do u think my grasshopper can be to big? thanks

Where are the grasshoppers coming from? If they are wild caught stop feeding them, WC feeders can have pesticides or other toxins in their system that can harm your BD. You could try wax worms to try to get him a little nutrition, but just a few as they are very fatty. There are other feeder worms that are better but harder to find. Just look on this site for acceptable feeders. Is he pooping?

the grasshoppers are from a garden center. they have a reptile shop in their. i dont catch them wild. last time he pooped was monday. hasent poop since. aye had him in a bath yesterday, got told tht it could help them poop? thanks

The Acurite is highly regarded because it can take your cool side temp, basking temp, and humidity level. I agree with Alisa on her question. What substrate are you using? You need to dust your crickets with calcium and multivitamins. What UVB are you using? If you have a tube bulb, on the side should be the brand and percent. Please find out, UVB is very important. Your temps seem to be very low. Your basking spot should be between 100-110º and 95 is the minimum. Your cool side can be between 75-85 degrees. If he's having trouble pooping, you can try feeding him sugar free applesauce, olive oil, or 100% pure pumpkin. Belly rubs help! Keep us updated!

I am dusting my hoppers every 2nd day with NUTROBAL "a high potency calcium balancer & multivitamin supplement. thts what it says on tub". he hasent poop since tuesday. hes eatting better noo tho, a bought crickets today and he eat abt 8 of them.
UVB am using "reptie glo 10.0 exo terra" the bulb looks sprial. on my left side of tank
got a buld on other side but has nothing on it?? dont have any boxes of bulbs either.aye dont have a tube bulb.
been told to get a reptisun 10.0 for my beardie tho.
cant get that link for the mesuring temps tht u put on last replay . am taking him to the vets on thurs anaw,got an appointment booked.

to get my light would it be best to go online for them or can u go to pet store?
