Hi! Not-so-recently my boy Levi has been having numerous problems. I need to take him to the vet nearly every month to get an enema since he cant seem to poop on his own despite having daily baths and some baby food to try to help him pass stools (of course its no added sugar baby food), hes been having to go once a month to the vet for 8 months now? maybe 6?
This isnt a reptile specialist vet since the nearest one is 2+ hours away and since its been cold out i didnt want to make that drive with Levi. My vets in contact with the reptile expert and they still cant seem to find out the problem.. Hes had xrays done which havent showed any problems and all around got a clean bill of health. He seems better after an enema which is why i havent been *too* concerned but this last month he didnt seem to perk up at all after his visit. After his enema his poop seems normal except the white part is completely hardened. I thought it was dehydration but hes had so many baths i dont know anymore? Ive been trying to give him water through a syringe/dropper but he gets angry when i do and spits it out.
Recently hes been acting very lethargic and lazy in his cage with dark coloring and avoids basking. He does seem to brighten up and run around when i take him out but im extremely worried about him since this isnt his normal personality. Iv'e also noticed he isnt wanting to eat. Any ideas on why his health is like this or how i can help him feel better?
He gets fed crickets 2 times a week and salad the rest of the time. Salads consist of various veggies like Occasional kale, yellow squash, collard greens, mangos, strawberries, Greenbeans, and sometimes blueberries and grapes as a treat. The salad is either dusted in calcium powder or a bearded dragon salad dressing that has vitamins and abit calcium.
His cage is a 40 gallon breeder tank, his basking varies from 98-100 degrees his cool side is usually around 80, he has a reptisun 10.0 UVB (compact bulb), and his substrate is tile.
Hes about two years old ive and owned him since a baby. I do have a second male dragon who doesnt seem to be having any of these problems?
