I'm glad the big guy trusts me but the reason for this post is because he seems almost afraid to fall asleep by himself. I seen him jolt awake many times just terrified, the guy I bought him from at the repticon last Saturday said the previous owner had abused/kept him in horrible conditions. Sadly I don't have a definite age I didn't ask, he's 16 inches if that helps. I guess a good question is , can reptiles suffer from ptsd? I'm just curious. Glad that he trusts me though after only a week of him getting to know me! Makes me so mad to think someone would hurt him ?kingofnobbys":3ocg4mdl said:Some are really into cuddles and snuggles from their humans. Enjoy it if the beardie likes it .
BTW - it's largely a response to how they are reared and how strong a bond you form with them, all my pet lizards (beardies, bluetongue skinks and until recently my water skink) are all smoogers.
Rex , Peppa (and Wriggles while she was with us) can't get enough of snuggles from mommy and daddy.

Ya he has a healed scar on the entire chin area....also looks like he had recovered from malnurishment. I guess because their reptiles some people just to sympathize with them like they do mammals (but even then an animal abuser usually abuses most animals) . Even more suprising is how comfortable he is around people and even outside, he's just very watchful and aware if your someone he doesn't know. Guess the guy I bought him from put a lot of hard work into rehabilitation! Glad I have this wonderful beardie ?kingofnobbys":1v0cs74q said:TakuaNuva":1v0cs74q said:I'm glad the big guy trusts me but the reason for this post is because he seems almost afraid to fall asleep by himself. Probably has nightmares .... poor boy he's been traumatised .... even more reason to endulge him and show him humans can kind and gentle and trusted and a source of pleasureable sensations. A bit if TLC and I expect he'll become very much more relaxed and content and secure after a while.
I really can't understand why some people are so nasty to their pet lizards.
