Bearded Dragon Acting Territorial???

So I just got my juvenile bearded dragon Mel (like yesterday). I don't know if it's a territorial male thing or not but every time I come close and open the cage he puffs up, his beard turns darker and he holds his arm up. I'm trying to be as patient as possible, but I would feel better if he would calm down a bit. He stares at the glass too, so I might cover that side.

EDIT: I covered up some of the glass and he seems a bit calmer but I don't really want to jinx it rn.

It could be the reflection. Sometimes they just go through phases like that though. I've found it best not to show any fear and they'll back down a bit. You can try bribery with some hand fed treats too. Otherwise if it's just a phase then it should stop after a bit.

He has stopped eating too. Triple checking heat and hoping he might just need to get used to me.
