Bath time??

My beardie usually doesn’t mind taking a bath, but today when I put him in, he acted differently. He was wiggling about a lot, and his tail was lashing. He also seemed to be sliding through the water like he was swimming, but his beard was black. He backed away from me when I tried to pick him up, so I assumed he was feeling frightened.

He’s had a darker beard for a few days now- not fully black, just dark at the edges. I’m not sure what’s wrong with him.

He may just have not liked the bath or was frightened as you say. Best to just take him out and try him off in that case. They tend to forgive and forget pretty well though.
