Baby not eating!

Since Thursday, our tiny baby beardy has had about a half dozen small crix and a little more than that of waxworms. He has also had a single meal worm and a little less than a teaspoon of squash baby food. This morning, he refuses to eat anything. He is pretty spry, but always runs back to the exact same spot when we move him. His belly isn't hard, so we don't think he is compacted. What to do?

Not sure how new your baby is in your home, but it could just be a case of relocation stress. I wouldn't worry about him refusing to eat for 1 or 2 days. Babies can be finiky, just like all other baby species.

I would stop feeding him mealworms though, as those are a cause of impaction in many beardies, especially babies!

he/she eat a couple drops of baby food squash and licked a piece of strawberyy but other then that still not eating. won't touch the crickets or the wax worms. IDK but like I put on my other thread he/she isn't losing weight that we can tell he is active but he/she is shedding and several sites have said that the shedding could be the cause for the situation so we mist him/her and keep offering food. *Shrug* :banghead:

The shed could be putting them off their food. Keep an eye out and keep offering :) Hopefully he/she will come around soon!

Hi I have a similar problem. I bought a 10-20day old bearded dragon that has one tip of her toe nipped and the very very tip of her tail. She is in a 20gal tank her basking spot is 104°cool side is 82°and I have offered her several crickets and she just seems to not want them and also just lays in her basking spot. I've had her for about 5-6 days and the first three she was in shed and still adjusting I assume. I want to know if maybe should return her sinceshe hasn't eatin. Keep in mind this is the 6th day ice had her and only have 14days to return for another dragon. Please help sap and did yours ever start eating?

We have not been able to get ours to eat still.. he/she is sitting in basking spot and will not eat at all we get him/her to eat some baby food squash off his/her nose but not much.. We are at a loss ourselves.. I would say that if it was a good pet store you got yours from to take it back to them and get them to get it to eat.. Other then that we are at a loss together.

I am too and she does the same thing. Literally justly sits in her basking spot all day. But she's energetic when I take her out of the cage but when she's in there she's not normal

Try with some baby food. just put a little on her nose. ours will take that at least sometimes. Does she drink when you spray her?

Please please don't give up on your little one so quickly. :( I've known beardies that have not eaten for much longer than that. I hope someone else has better advice, but I wouldn't just return them if they are perfectly happy, energetic etc. How are their temps? Beardies lose their appitite when they are too cold.

First thred has my setup and temps and I'm going to keep trying with her and force feeding her to give her more appetite. I really like her too and she's a hypo citrus :)

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
